Methodological comparison of plutonic rock classification
Emelie Axelsson (BSc thesis)

Samples of mingled magmas (diorite to granite) from the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt are used to assess the similarities and differences resulting from modal versus chemical classification schemes. The range in rock types, from mafic to felsic, found mingling in the CED are amenable to testing the limits of such schemes and provide a useful comparison for their applications. This work is a contribution toJEBEL.
